ExamWRITER Educational Event
The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act has appropriated approximately $19.2 billion in federal stimulus funds to accelerate the adoption of electronic medical records and the interoperability of health information technology. The federal stimulus funds are to be disbursed throughout the years 2009 through 2013. Under the legislation, Medicare will provide incentive payments of up to $44,000 over five years for doctors not based in hospitals who demonstrate "meaningful use" of certified EMR software starting in 2011.
It is our desire to assist you in effectively and efficiently using ExamWRITER, our electronic medical record solution. For this reason, we are dedicated to providing ExamWRITER Education Events throughout 2010. These courses are designed for doctors who have never used ExamWRITER and those who wish to use it more effectively. ExamWRITER electronic medical records courses address change management, the outlook of today's technology integrated practice, creating templates, efficient documentation practices, and document scanning.

Registration Information
Registration for the Beginning ExamWRITER course is $198 per person and registration for the ExamWRITER User course is $198 per person. Each of these two-day education and training courses includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and course materials. The COPE Education day on Wednesday is sponsored by our channel partners and is completely FREE to you!
Space is limited to 80 VSP providers, so be sure to register early!
Note: Due to the very limited space available, we are accepting reservations for doctors only until December 20, 2009. After that time, we will also accept reservations for technicians. To add your technicians to a waiting list, leave a comment in the Comments text box on the online registration form, call 800.269.3666, option 3, option 2, or send an e-mail to edconf@officemate.net. If space allows to open the event to staff members, we will notify registrants by e-mail.

Beginning ExamWRITER Itinerary
The ideal attendee of this course is someone who has not begun using, or has very limited experience with, ExamWRITER. This course will focus on getting started using EMR and ExamWRITER basics. Refer to the timetable below for the Beginning ExamWRITER itinerary.

Do you have questions? We have answers!
Q: Can anyone attend the ExamWRITER Educational Event?
A: Because this event is being held on the VSP campus, only VSP providers are invited to attend. Eyefinity/OfficeMate is currently planning to repeat this event for all ExamWRITER clients in 2010.
Q: Can I bring staff members and technicians to the event?
A: Due to the very limited space available (80 registrants), we are accepting reservations for doctors only until December 20, 2009. After that time, we will also accept reservations for technicians. Q: Is there a limit to how many doctors can attend from the same practice?
A: Yes. Only five doctors per practice can attend the event unless space allows to open the event to more than five doctors per practice.
Q: Can I bring a guest to the wine tasting event on Wednesday?
A: At this time, we are concerned that the winery will not be able to accommodate guests; however, if we have extra tickets to the event, we will give them away at the COPE Education event.
Q: Can I attend the wine tasting event without attending the COPE Education event?
A: No.
Q: Are there discounts for attending more than one class?
A: No.
Q: Will I get "hands-on" experience in the course?
A: The course will be interactive, but it will not be set up for "hands-on" experience. Handouts will include ExamWRITER screenshots so that it will be easy for you to incorporate what you learned in the course in your practice.
Q: Do you have blocked hotel space?
A: No; however, we do recommend booking hotel rooms at the full-service Sacramento Marriott Rancho Cordova, which is 3.1 miles from VSP. Mention VSP for a discounted rate.
