Abstract:

Service pack 2 (SP2) for OfficeMate/ExamWRITER 10.7.21 resolves an issue related to negative insurance chargebacks that were reported after the initial release of OfficeMate/ExamWRITER 10.7.

Note: Installing SP1 is not required prior to installing SP2.

Backing up Your Data

Regardless of whether you are unning the Fix Insurance Chargebacks utility, installing SP1, or both, you must first back up your data.

Running the Fix Insurance Chargebacks Utility

Prior to installing service pack 2, run the Fix Insurance Chargebacks Utility to correct any negative insurance chargebacks that were recorded in OfficeMate 10.7. Note: If you are just now upgrading to 10.7, and you haven't recorded any negative insurance chargebacks in OfficeMate 10.7, you don't need to run this utility prior to installing service pack 2.

Download the utility [click here to download] and save it to the OfficeMate Updates folder on your network. If you don’t have an

Close OfficeMate and ExamWRITER on every computer.
On your server, navigate to your OfficeMate Updates folder on your network. If your download folder has a different name, navigate to that folder.

VSP Options Reformulation Effective March 1, 2013

Abstract:
Effective March 1, 2013, VSP is changing the option coverage codes and categories for specific lenses and is also giving you the ability to deliver customized progressive lenses to your patients through OfficeMate and the VSP Interface.

To accommodate the changes that VSP is making and continue to use OfficeMate to submit VSP orders and claims, you will need to run the utility attached to this article prior to submitting claims or orders on or after March 1.

This utility requires OfficeMate 10.5.23, SP2, Patch 3 or later. If you are running OfficeMate 10.5.23, but have not previously installed service pack 2 or patch 3, refer to the related articles below to download and install Service Pack 2 and Patch 3 prior to running the VSP Options reformulation utility. Users of OfficeMate 10.6 or later do not need to install a service pack or a patch.
