ExamWRITER Menu Changes for Diabetic Impressions

Abstract:

This patch is an elective update to the ExamWRITER 10.5 and 10.6 menu options on the Impression/Systemic window. The patch changes the following menu items:

Changes the following Diabetes Suspect items:

Type 1 changed to Type I, Controlled
Type 2 changed to Type II, Controlled

Adds the following items to Diabetes Suspect items:

Type I, Uncontrolled
Type II, Uncontrolled

Removes the following items:

Allergies
Eczema

If you are using ExamWRITER 10.5 or 10.6 and you would like to implement these menu changes, perform the following steps to download and install the patch.

Download the patch from http://oss.ome.s3.amazonaws.com/OT36721.exe and save the file to the OfficeMate Updates folder on your network. If your download folder has a different name, navigate to that folder.
Close OfficeMate and ExamWRITER on every computer.
On a computer running ExamWRITER, navigate to the OfficeMate Updates folder on your network.
Double-click OT35120.exe.
The Open File - Security Warning window opens.
Click Run.
The WinZip Self-Extractor window opens.
Click Browse, if necessary, and navigate to and select the location of your OMATE32 or OfficeMate folder (often C:\OMATE32 or C:\OfficeMate) and click OK.
Click Unzip to install the files.
Click OK after the file successfully unzips.
Click Close to close the WinZip Self-Extractor window.
Repeat steps 3–9 on each computer running ExamWRITER.

Abstract:
If you are using ExamWRITER v9.5 or below, the Preferences, Medication Maintenance, and Menu Editor options are located in the Tools menu in ExamWRITER.
If you are using ExamWRITER v10 or above, the Preferences, Medication Maintenance, and Menu Editor options are now accessed in Administration.
To access these ExamWRITER options in OfficeMate Administration, click Setup in the main window and select ExamWRITER.
To access these ExamWRITER options in ExamWRITER Administration, click Activities in the main window.

Abstract:
If you deselect the Red check box for impression sub-categories in the Exam, Report and Auto Letter Sequence Editor window, they will remain in red text in the exam record. This feature is working as designed. All impressions, even if you deselect the Red check box in the Exam, Report and Auto Letter Sequence Editor window, will remain in red text in the exam record.

Follow the instructions below to select to view ExamWRITER sub-categories in red or black text:
On the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, and select Menu Editor.
Select the category in which you want to customize exam data and auto letter sequences.
Select the Red check boxes in the Exam Display and Exam Report Sequence box to display sub-categories in red text on the ExamWRITER chart window. Check boxes left unchecked will display sub-categories in black text on the ExamWRITER chart

What happened to the text menu editor that was available in the demo version of ExamWRITER 6.0?

Abstract: The ability to customize descriptive exam text required additional testing before the release of ExamWRITER 6.0; therefore, you are not able to edit exam text in ExamWRITER versions 6.0-6.4. This feature will be available in ExamWRITER 6.5.
