Follow the instructions below if, while using the OfficeMate Suite in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008, you receive the User Account Control error that states, "A program needs your permission to continue. If you started this program, continue." You will also need to complete the instructions below if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you are receiving error 339, and you are unable to run ~OMRegAll.bat, even as the administrator.
Windows Vista Users
- Click Continue or Cancel.
- Click Start and select Control Panel.
- Double-click User Accounts.
- Click the Turn User Account Control on or off link.
- Deselect the Use User Account (UAC) to help protect your computer check box.
- Click OK.
- Close the Control Panel.
Windows 7 & Windows Server 2008 Users
- Click Continue or Cancel.
- Click Start and select Control Panel.
- Click User Accounts.
- Click User Accounts again.
- Click Change User Account Control Settings.
- Move the scroll bar to the bottom of the bar next to Never Notify.
- Click OK.
- Close the Control Panel.
Alternatively, if, due to security reasons, you do not want to deselect the Use User Account (UAC) to help protect your computer check box, you can close OfficeMate and ExamWRITER, right-click on the OfficeMate and/or ExamWRITER icons on your desktop, and select Run as Administrator.
