First ‘Meaningful Users’ of OfficeMate/ExamWRITER Get Stimulus Money. Vision Monday. May 25, 2011. "After attesting to “meaningful use” of the certified version of VSP Global’s OfficeMate/ExamWRITER v10 electronic health records, four eyecare professionals have started to receive their first federal stimulus payments of $18,000 each, according to VSP. The ECPs receiving the payments are Kim Castleberry, OD, of Plano, Texas; Lorie Lippiatt, OD, of Salem, Ohio; Ryan Wineinger, OD, of Shawnee, Kan.; and Jeffrey Willig, MD, an ophthalmologist from Syosset, N.Y. A VSP announcement said all four were part of a beta-test group helping provide analysis of the certified version of OfficeMate/ExamWRITER, which is set for release this summer.

Eyefinity/OfficeMate Declares Virtual Users' Group Meeting a Success, Plans Next Year's Event. Vision Monday. September 3, 2009.
"Nearly 4,400 attendees registered for the VUGM, which had a 1,900 percent increase in attendance over last year. This year's meeting was the first in an online Webinar format, allowing practices to choose from a weeklong set of two dozen courses made available through live interactive video sessions instead of an on-site meeting.
Users who registered for the VUGM have access to view all the courses again online. Eyefinity/OfficeMate users who did not register for this year's VUGM can pay the $129 registration fee to get access to the WebEx reordering of every course, as well as a question-and-answer transcript, until Sept. 30."
